Apple had open their system for pre-order of their much awaited iPad. April 3 is the start of shipping of the iPad.

It feels like everyone is very much looking forward for this neat device. Although the device is getting tons of positive buzz, there will always be some flaws on that ‘perfect product’.

Check out this spoof video, an ipad parody of the missing features of the IpAd such as a built-in camera, printing support, voice and others.

Transfer Firefox Settings to New Computer

How do you transfer all the nice little Firefox settings, bookmarks, plugins and addons that you already have on your old computer to your new one? I’m sure there must be some configuration file somewhere in your program files or the code of firefox itself, but for use not so fluent with firefox, we can use 3rd party tools.

Answers to Questions: Wolfram Alpha Search Engine

There’s a new player in town for the search engine business. Nope, not that ‘Google killer search engine‘ called Cuil (aint that defunct yet?) The new search engine that’s making a buzz in the world wide internet is called Wolfram Alpha.

I first read and heard about this from a collegue who writes on review ninja and most of the info you’ll read about Wolfram alpha search engine here are borrowed from TechCrunch and other Wolfram Alpha wikis.

What is Wolfram Alpha?

Wolfram Alpha is an web service that answers queries directly by computing the answer from structured data. What does that mean? Well, unlike most conventional search engine (Google, Yahoo, MSM, Asks others) where searchers put it the info they want to find out and presented with tons of websites or webpages about that keywords, Wolfram Alpha can answers questions that the searhers asks!

The developer of Wolfram Alpha, Stephen Wolfram, says that the unique search engine is build on what he calls “computational knowledge engine”. What is it? Well, basically it means that you can ask it factual questions and it computes answers for you.

TechCrunch explains it more concise:

It doesn’t simply return documents that (might) contain the answers, like Google does, and it isn’t just a giant database of knowledge, like the Wikipedia. It doesn’t simply parse natural language and then use that to retrieve documents, like Powerset, for example. Instead, Wolfram Alpha actually computes the answers to a wide range of questions — like questions that have factual answers such as “What country is Timbuktu in?” or “How many protons are in a hydrogen atom?” or “What is the average rainfall in Seattle?”

Remember the keyword there… Wolfram Alpha Search Engine answers questions with “Factual Answers“. So, I guess questions like, “What would the political status of Pres. Obama be in 5 years?” or “Who’ll be the next president of the Philippines?”. Meaning Wolfram Alpha does not predict future or gives opinions. The answers it has are FACTS.

How Does It Work

Wolfram Alpha contains formal models of much of what we know about science — massive amounts of data about various physical laws and properties, as well as data about the physical world. Remember all facts. Otherwise the answers will not be 100% true.

Since it ‘computes’ for the answers, it not like wikipedia where all the info are in a static, non-changing page. This means that if you asks a questions that needs to be computed, Wolfram Alpha Search can do it for you. Those are scientific or Mathematical type of questions of course.

What the Future for Wolfram Alpha?

So, where’s Wolfram Alpha heading? No one knows actually, even Wolfram Alpha would know the answers if asked that question *grin*… It really all depends on the acceptance of the internet users on this new technology.

All I can say is that, let’s try it out. If it clicks, it clicks… I am sure Google is doing something that can compete with Stephen Wolfram’s baby. Let’s wait.

Setting Up Custom Name Server at your Registrar

Just want to note here steps on how to setup your own custom name server from your registrar. In my case, I had to do it on GoDaddy. But of course there are tons of webpages out there that explains how to do it in different registrar.. on this post I just took the part where they enumerate procedures for GoDaddy.

This post was created because of the email from one of my webhosting account… They said that my dedicated server is ready and I can now set up my own custom name server. They even offer to help if I don’t know how to do it. I just need to give them my account info…. sure… NOT.

Here’s how to do it in GoDaddy:

GoDaddy
1. Login to your GoDaddy Account.
2. Click on My Account
3. Click on Manage Domains
4. Click on the domain name you want to modify.
5. In the lower left corner of the page, there is a Host Summary. Click Add.
6. Enter the ns1 and ns2 and IP addresses. Then click OK.
7. Click the Nameservers icon across the top.
8. Change the nameservers to the ones you just created.

I am welcoming you to Facebook (Facbook) if you don’t have an account yet. After I mentioned about Frienster here, many (hope so) found out how great this social networking site is. Not only that, they started searching for Frienster layout and themes!

This time we’ll be talking about Facbook and how we can use it to connect or re-connect to other friends and collegues. Internet has really taken us far away and Facbook i just one of it.

First things first though, I am no advocate of using peer-to-peer sharing or torrents while inside the office but I don’t deny that, I too, is using peer-to-peer and torrents to download music and files and ebooks.

What or who is EZTV?

Those who ever been a torrent user or those who download files from the internet (specifically TV shows ripped from HDTV) using torrent surely knows what/who EZTV is.

Although this post will give you all the torrents uploaded by EZTV, let us go into a detour and give a little background to EZTV as a torrent user or as a user who supports the torrents community.

First thing, EZTV is no individual person. EZTV is a group of people who do HD TV rips of the current and popular TV shows being aired. EZTV
